Forget touch displays. You never even need to caress the screen of Sony’s “magical” smartphone to communicate with it -- just float your fingur over the screen to navigate through the menu.

The Android-powered system includes Sony’s new floating touch navigation with NFC and Xperia SmartTags to provide customers with a unique smartphone experience.

The two provided SmartTags can be customized with up to 10 different commandss -- such as training your phone to convert on its WiFi connection and release the news app when you move into the living room or to switch to silent and convert on the alarm when you move into the bed room.

The Xperia sola is also outfitted with a 3.7” Reality Display, a 1GHz dual-core processor, xLOUD and 3D surround sound, a 5MP camera with a 16x zoom capability, 720p videos, DLNA, and The Google android 2.3.

The Xperia Sola will be lanching around the world sometime between the end of this month and the end of June, when it’ll be available in black, white or red. Costs has yet to be verified.
