Antique Lace
Lace is about to get a makeover, as we say goodbye to the current thin stretch lace trend and say hello to lace that is reminiscent of traditional bobbin patterns. Style icons Sarah Jessica Parker and Kelly Ripa have both been spotted in Stella McCartney’s SS11 nude lace dress, which means that every fashion-lover should be aware of this look. A personal favorite of the take on this trend is from Valentino Haute Couture collection, which sees model of the moment Natasha Poly sporting an exquisite black lace dress with bow backing for September 2010′s Numerous magazine. Lace is always the first pick when it comes to creating an elegant look, and with antique-styled lacing soon to hit our wardrobes, it means we can have a less delicate take on the trend too.
Right now you're thinking that this is nothing new. And you're right; it's an extension of the sheer trend that's has, for some time, firmly cemented itself as its own, independent trend. So what follows is, instead, more about how to wear the trend now, and how to set yourself apart from the masses - so that you can bring it forwards and into a new league.
